INSPIRE YOUR CAMERA CLUB WITH A VIRTUAL EVENING WITH DAVID DUCHEMIN

Photographer and best-selling author David duChemin has taught this amazing craft on all seven continents, and has appeared on stages for companies like Amazon and Apple to teach the human side of this craft and the making of photographs that are not only sharp, but truly engaging. A former comedian and a gifted teacher, David's virtual lecture will inspire members of your camera club to go deeper with their craft and find greater joy in the exploration of their vision.

"David, on a scale of 1-10 your lecture was an 11. It was a real treat for the cold dark month of February. You have however created a problem for the club: what do we do next? Big thanks from Ajax.” - Roy RR, Ontario

A Compelling Lecture With (and About) Heart

Illustrated by inspiring photographs from around the world, David's Heart of the Photograph Virtual Lecture is roughly a 90-minute conversation (including Q&A time) exploring ten powerful ideas about the creation of more engaging photographs.

Available as either a Zoom webinar presented live, or in a less expensive video recording, David will meet with your camera club and discuss techniques and ways of thinking about the creation of images designed to engage human imagination and emotion, and creating images that are more than just visual but visceral. We'll discuss vision and intent, the use of space and time, the creation of depth, creative point of view, and other tools and ideas for making photographs that are more than just "of" something but about something more, something we can feel and experience more deeply.

This will be a camera club meeting they never forget.

One Great Presentation, No Sales Pitches

This is not a sales pitch cleverly designed as a webinar in hopes that participants will purchase something. No opportunity will be given to purchase anything, just a chance to download a couple of free eBooks. The Heart of the Photograph Virtual Lecture is designed for one thing only: to inspire you and your club to make photographs that have greater vision, deeper engagement, and—above all—heart.

"Wow! David packs so much into this hour and a half that you’ll want to go back and re-watch the recording. Then watch it again. Calling this lecture inspirational falls so far short. With signature duChemin humour and heart, he shares his hows and whys behind creating truly engaging, expressive images and leaves us with insightful questions to further our own craft. Our club members were blown away." - Almitra Hill, Sydney, Australia

  • 2 Ways to Inspire Your Club

After 2 years of presenting The Heart of the Photograph lecture to camera clubs all over the world, it is now available in two different formats to meet your needs.

Book The Heart of The Photograph Live

The Heart of the Photograph Live is presented in-person on Zoom, with a Q+A period at the end in which I'll answer questions from you and your members. To book the live-via-Zoom lecture click the image above and let my team know when you'd like to schedule the presentation and I'll see you there.

This lecture is about 75 minutes long before concluding with 15-20 minutes of questions and discussion. It will be recorded and that video will be yours for the club to keep.

Purchase The Heart of the Photograph On-Demand

The Heart of the Photograph On-Demand lecture is USD$197, making it more accessible to smaller groups and those for whom time-zones make scheduling difficult or impossible. Just download the provided video file and play it, either over Zoom or with your club members in-person, then keep it as a permanent part of your club library.

It runs about 96 minutes and includes 15-minutes of Q+A as I answer the most common questions from the last 2 years.

  • Watch a Highlight

It'll be so much easier to show you what this is about than to just tell you, so here's a 9-minute clip from the Heart of the Photograph presentation, exploring just one of the concepts around which this lecture is built: point of view.

Inspiring to new and veteran photographers alike.

"What a delight to have David duChemin speak to our camera club. His presentation, "The Heart of the Photograph" is inspiring to new and veteran photographers alike. His knowledge of the "rules" and his delight in breaking them provides a wonderful jumping off point to encourage photographers to "make art" and "follow your own vision."

    - Donna Parrone, St Louis Camera Club

    Compelling, enthusiastic and so inspiring.

"David exceeded our expectations as his presentation was compelling, enthusiastic and so inspiring. We now feel energized to try and bring more depth and emotion to our photography. Thank you so very much for the precious time spent with you during your presentation."

I'll never look at my camera the same

"So many photography lectures get trapped in the realm of equipment, social media trends, and post-editing. David's lecture traversed a different plane of photography entirely: one of heart, adventure, and experiencing the raw emotion of the craft. I'll never look at my camera the same again."

    - Dustin Glaseman, Manitoba

    Reconnected with our passion!

"David took us on a journey to rediscovering the many aspects and choices that make a photograph our own creation. He is a true storyteller in word and image. Thanks for inspiring us and reconnecting us with our passion!”
